2021 was absolutely exhausting, and I often fell back on old coping mechanisms like eating junk food and staying up too late. While we all were simply doing what we could to get through the insanity, 2021 was a somber reminder that life is short. In 2022, my goal is to pursue health from the inside out so I can be in my boys’ life for a very, very long time – and a big tool for this is Seed Probiotics.
I’ve taken probiotics a few times throughout the years, but I always heard conflicting things. I learned that probiotics weren’t required to be regulated, leading to basically an expensive placebo that sounded great, but did very little inside my body. And those that did have quality ingredients weren’t in quality capsules, which meant all the goodness died either in hot shipping trucks or in my stomach acid (sorry for the mental picture).
But when Seed reached out to work together, they required me to do an hour-long course all about the health benefits of a *quality* probiotic – and I realized that effective probiotics DO exist!
(FYI, Seed sponsored this post so I could share my honest thoughts with you! Hopefully you know me enough to know that Mama doesn’t sell out. You’ve gotta be pretty fantastic to be featured!)
Basically, probiotics are bacteria – but the good guys! 😉 Our American diet is so unbalanced that our good bacteria is usually overridden or wiped out altogether, which has been associated with lots of health issues. The groundbreaking thing about Seed’s Daily Synbiotic is that it’s ALSO a prebiotic- combining 24 select probiotic strains with a non-fermenting prebiotic ingredient concentrated from Indian pomegranate (ok, that’s pretty cool).
Seed’s probiotics are inside a vegan capsule, and then inside another outer capsule which houses the prebiotic. This means the bacteria stays alive all the way to your colon where the magic happens. Seed’s probiotic strains have undergone a crazy amount of research and testing (16 strain-specific, double-blind, placebo-controlled, published clinical studies as well as 13 in vitro/ex vivo mechanistic studies) to make sure that their stuff actually works. It’s highly potent, and there’s no meat, dairy, or synthetic/chemical coatings. Their strains are naturally occurring- way more potent and targeted than the ones found in fermented foods (this part totally blew my mind!).
Seed’s Daily Synbiotic is the first probiotic with strains that actually increase the body’s production of folate (the natural form of folic acid)! As I’ve learned more about folate vs folic acid (several friends have dealt with MTHFR mutations leading to miscarriages), this part is one of the biggest benefits of Seed in my opinion.
Seed makes sustainability gorgeous, too. Your subscription begins with elegant glass storage and travel jars, and every month’s shipment after that comes in bio-based compostable packaging. You pour the new shipment straight into your glass jar.
A quality probiotic is a no-brainer way to support your health! I’m so excited to make myself and my health a priority in 2022, and I’d encourage you to do the same. You’ve got to put on your own oxygen mask before helping others, so mama, make sure you are taking care of yourself in the midst of parenting chaos.
