5 Healthy Relationship Goals for 2021

Healthy Relationship Goals for 2021

During such a stressful time for our country, our family matters more than ever. As we’re working on our emotional, spiritual, and holistic health goals, working on our relationships is so vital to having a healthy and happy home!

Here are 5 healthy relationship goals for 2021.

This would be great to save and discuss with your partner on date night!

🖤 Have more quality time (without the kids).

Stay at home orders, lack of babysitters, virtual school – all of this led to a serious lack of date nights in 2020! Get creative about dates in 2021. Turn your garage or patio into a romantic place to relax together after the kids fall asleep. Or maybe have a picnic while your kids play at the park! Brainstorm some new ideas together.

🖤 Create boundaries between work and home.

As many of us work and learn from home, it’s easy for responsibilities to bleed over into evenings and days off. This can lead to resentment and unmet expectations. Try to have designated work areas in your home, and agree on specific days/times that both of you will put work down and spend time together.

🖤 Figure out what YOU can do to improve your relationship.

Many of us can list off things that our partner needs to improve. But challenge yourself to make a list of ways YOU could improve your relationship. You might even call up a close friend or family member and ask them to offer their honest suggestions.

🖤 Make a post-pandemic bucket list.

Dream about all the cool things you want to do once things are back to normal! You can create a Pinterest board or even pin some places on a Google Maps list. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, so you probably have several things you’ve missed big time in 2020. (I for one am SO glad we squeezed our romantic trip to Victoria, BC in right before COVID!)

🖤 Assume the best.

In an extra stressful season, give each other grace. Let your partner finish their sentences (without finishing them in your head!). They want the best for you- after all, they love you! Don’t jump to conclusions.
